Finally! I am finally backed to civilization. Those few days of strenuous activities were really putting its toll on my unseasoned body. This is a good indication that I seriously need to train up once more. All those months of intense focus on the ‘O’ Levels have distracted me from my own physical wellness. Participating in the camp really brought about a lot of new insights of the current generation of kiddos. I guess anyone would be distraught to see how “mature” these pathetic secondary one students are nowadays.
ERWIN, that is a name I will never forget. I cannot believe that at the age of 13, moving on to sec2 next year, he is clueless as to how to put on his clothes properly, how to tie his shoelace and is also unable to open a packet of instant noodles. It is really laughable, how can such an individual survive at this age like this. I guess this is how society breeds their offspring nowadays. The government has always boasted about our educational status, but when it boils down to these trivial issues, it is utterly disgusting. This would be absolutely detrimental to Singapore’s reputation. Interesting names popped out during the camp as well. There is this cadet by the name of Maverick. Not only is the name uncommon, but it sounds kind of cool as well.
Summary of entire camp: Day 1: Very slack, all we did was see how the sadistic officers punish the cadets. I must say I was amused by it all. It can really be an interesting sight sometimes.
Day 2: We had to prepare for the 40th Anniversary celebrations. This was really torturous. Not only did we have to push the cadets to hasten their work, but we also needed to handle with a mountainous pile of logistics. The celebration went ok I must say. Despite the numerous setbacks encountered along the way, we were easily able to overcome them
Day 3: Went for a hike at Mac Ritchie. It was kind of boring at times, especially due to the lack of camaraderie amongst the cadets. Erwin cried at night for being forced to eat his vegetables.
Day 4: Packing, cleaning! That just about sums up the entire camp.
